Tree Felling

Tree felling can be carried out by a tree surgeon for a number of reasons.

  • The tree has become diseased/is dying back and needs to be removed.
  • Tree roots are causing subsidence issues to a property/building.
  • To allow space for new developments.
  • The tree has outgrown its area or is being heavily suppressed by surrounding trees.

There are various methods the tree surgeon will use when felling. Every tree is totally different often with varying high risk targets underneath/around the tree. We will assess the tree/s on the quotation stage and provide any possible options for the safest and most efficient way of removing your tree.

Directional Fell

Putting in the necessary cuts taking into account where the tree is weighted, lean etc and felling as a whole tree. the tree is then dealt with and tidied up on the ground.

Technical Dismantle

A more popular form of felling. The tree is rigged off in sections by the tree surgeon from within the tree and gently lowered to the ground to prevent any damage to lawn, shrubs, buildings, sheds, greenhouses etc.

Mechanical Assisted Fell

Whether there are too many high risk targets around the tree or if access is too limited for the trees removal then machinery can be used to assist in the trees removal. Cherry pickers/MEWPs can be used if access allows it, and for the larger takedowns cranes can be brought in to carry out the work.

We try to encourage the replacement of a tree should you have any removed and so offer a discounted rate for ‘planting to replace’. We can source a wide variety of tree saplings/young trees and at sizes to suit your requirements. We will be happy to help you find the right tree species.
